We provide great technology and support to people in ministry.
Why? So individuals and ministry leaders can save time and money, harness more productive energy, avoid unnecessary distractions, and remain focused on what's truly important... the people we are thankful to
serve.
Let's work smarter together to maximize the positive impact this ministry and others make on our community!
WHAT IS FAITH FORMATION?
I believe that many people don't think about the term Faith Formation. It's true that the focus of faith formation is catechesis, but it's not just about religious classes. Think about the word FORM for a moment. Philosophers such as Saint Thomas Aquinas, used Matter and Form to categorize material things. The MATTER of a human being is bone and flesh. The FORM of a human being is how we are configured (arms, hands, legs, feet) but in philosophical terms, FORM speaks of the soul, the immaterial component of Man. Although it's true in Faith Formation our goal is to form your children in knowledge, understanding, and prepare them to receive the sacraments. Our goal is to help form them into becoming more Christ-like. When the body dies, what will stand before God . . . that's right, our soul. But human beings are not just soul. We are a body & soul composite. What we do in the body effects the soul, which is why it's important to feed and form our spiritual life.
THE SPIRITUAL LIFE:
We form our spiritual life through prayer, such as the rosary; reading the scriptures, the catechism, and spiritual books; watching online Catholic resources; receiving the sacraments such as reconciliation. However, the greatest way to form our spiritual life is by going to Mass & receiving the Eucharist! When we fill ourselves with these good things it helps us to be more like Christ.
RUNNING THE RACE:
Saint Paul says that when we run the race, run so as to win (1Corinthians 9:24). If a runner wants to compete in a marathon, they need to train. Training will help one gain enough strength & endurance to finish the race. As the athlete trains, so must the Christian. And we train by forming our spiritual life. Remember this . . . we cannot do anything apart from God! We participate in his grace.
PREPARING FOR HEAVEN:
Each moment we are moving towards our end, that moment when we will stand before God.
